Need some help in Denver please

Hello! I'm hoping for some help!!
I live in Denver and suffer from really bad migraines. Sometimes they are so bad I can't even see. I've tried all kinds of pain killers but can't be productive at work when I am feeling groggy and slow from their side effects and they don't always work, sometimes they just make me sick and nauseous and I know they are highly addictive . The only thing that helps alleviate my pain is smoking herb. Any one have any advice on a Dr. I can see for a recommendation?? Generally can this be accomplished in one visit or do I need to see them multiple times?? and once I have the recommendation, how does it work? Do I need to then apply for a card? Sorry for the 20 questions but I am new and so excited at the prospect of finally having access to the only medicine that has ever helped with my condition.

    Cheers!

Read the following to get familiar with state law:
    Medical Marijuana in Colorado

Contact the following organizations for a doctor referral:
    https://www.safeaccessnow.org
    SAFER - Home
    Rocky Mountian Caregivers Cooperative

You will need to provide your medical record to your doctor, in Colorado most doctors require that you have a preexisting medical condition and a established medical history before they will see you. Once accepted into their practice you will you see your doctor and discuss why you believe that you will benefit from the use of medical cannabis. After the doctor reviews your medical history and if they agree that cannabis will help you then they will provide you with a written recommendation. You will need to complete the state paperwork, pay the required fees, and submit all of this to the state of Colorado's dept. of Health.

Thanks again for supporting the state program and doing things right, the more people that register the larger our voice will be. Also for those of you not familiar with Colorado's program, they are very serious about security. Read the following from the states site:

    How is my confidentiality protected?
Your confidentiality is protected by law and by the procedures used by the registry. No lists of doctors, patients of caregivers are given out to anyone. Local law enforcement may only contact the registry to verify the information on a specific identification card. The registry database resides on a stand-alone computer and is password protected and encrypted. The office and all of its contents are locked at night when the registry administrator is out of the office.
