First Timer...PLEASE HELP!!!

since dry ice is compressed, frozen CO2, would it be safe to put some dry ice on top of my medium so that it melts and releases the CO2 around the plant? Just thought it could be a cheap source of CO2. All suggestions are appreciated:rastasmoke:

Dry ice is really cold, so cold it burns... I don't think it will be wise to put it on the top of the medium it may freeze it and the plant can suffer from it! Maybe close by with a fan pushing the air on the plant but even there I'm not too sure it's safe.

I agree with LuciferN, but if you were to do the dry ice thing I would not put it directly on the soil, maybe in a container centered between the plants? Really though, if you do the math, you would be better off to save up for a CO2 tank and regulator, after one harvest the tank and regulator will be cheaper than supplying 5+ pounds of CO2 everyday to give an adequate amount.

Get a bottle of carbonated water, put in a spray bottle, and spray your plants. Your plants will receive CO2 from the carbonation, and it is cheap and safe.

This is quite true ozzyleven, on the long run the tank and the regulator is better, you can switch it off when the lights are out or even put it on the same timer as the lights! Plus it will last longer compare to dry ice and it easier to manage the amount of Co2 release by it.
