    cooking time??????????

there are alot of discrepancies from people and threads ive read about how long to simmer the cannaoil or budder.

most of the threads for budder say 24hrs. never tried this since i dont have the time.

some say 20-30 mins with oil at a simmer. tried this 3 times with great results.
7g bud, 16 brownies, 1 brownies is great.

going to try with virgin coconut oil next. since they say it has a higher saturated fat content. blah blah..and it says to simmer for about 1 hour.

so my question is is there a minimum or maximum time we should SIMMER the butter or oil.

i have some left over cannaoil that has been sitting for a few weeks and noticed slight layering of the fat and thinner oil. not layers but you could see the two. is that the fat molecules and thc separate from the regular oil.

and another thread ive read said that room temperature is sufficient but takes longer to heat is used as a catalyst.

so what im going to do is use my virgin coconut oil, grind my bud up as fine as i can get it. get the coconut oil to a temp just so its not a solid and soak the bud for a day or two depends if i remember. then do the simmer.

hope i get the most out of my bud.

weed here is a little pricey and i want to get the most out of my oil.

    cooking time??????????

well i just used the cannaoil thats been sitting for a few weeks and when i opened the bottle it smelled awesome...could compare it to a wine fanatic smelling top of the line wine...haha

so the oil only had about .4g weed content and i baked 1 box. 8x8 pan cut it into 6 pieces.

had one and just felt theraputic. so i take 2 next time and it was delightful.

still pending on the extraction timje with the coconut oil.

    cooking time??????????

fredobox my dad has been making butter and oil for quite some time now.

I don't make it, but he has explained it to me and I have seen and smelt it being made a lot of times.

    His process is as follows!!!
He uses only the clippings from his plant harvest. This amount varies so the amount of butter produced will varies also.

You take the leaves and small stems and grind them up. He uses a blender.
Some leaves are dry and some are still wet it doesn't matter.
Take the ground up material and place in a crock-pot, or slow cooker what ever you call it.
    Now experience will help out!!
Put in enough butter or oil to just cover the ground up material. maybe 1/16 of an inch above the material.
Simmer this for a minimum of 4 hours!!!! You need to break down all the plant material to get the good stuff out!!! He has cooked it up to 8 hours depending on the amount he is cooking.
Try to remove as much liquid as you can, then strain the material through cheese cloth or something. Get every drop

I don't really know if this much help, but his products kick ass.
Use this in recipes just as the recipe requires, its unbelievable how baked you will get off 1 TBL of this in brownies.

    Disclaimer!!!
    He uses great quality clippings!!!
Northern Lights, Skunk/Haze, Pez, Trainwreck, Real McCoy coming soon Thai!!

He will probably chime in when he sees this post!!

    cooking time??????????

    ok i see..

    so four hours it is..=)

but is there any worry about simmering it too long even if its at the correct temperature??

i usually use 1/8 or 1/4 of bud at a time. easier for me to get bud than leaves. just gotta get the connect.

1 tablet using the tablet recipie here?? wow im definitely gonna do this considering the amount used in that recipe.
