Clone a hermaphrodite? Can't find an answer...

So, I have this plant it is an Elvis-Diesel, which I am very fortunate to have. Hard to find and I had to bring it from east to west. Unfortunately, it seems as if little Elvis has hermied, but very slightly. I am pretty sure it was stress, room got really hot for a couple days I would say that the plant is about 95%, as I have only found a couple sets of balls and there are hairs everywhere else!. Anyways I have been plucking the balls and intend to harvest the plant. I know that seeds from a hermaphrodite are unstable and produce mostly hermie seeds and that a clone will take on the same genetic properties as the mother, but since the mother was female before the stress, can I clone this plant and it will be female, or would it not be a good idea? My plan was to throw the Elvis back into veg for a couple weeks, after I harvest her/it and then clone. I have been doing a lot of reading, but have been unable to find an answer to this particular question. Any advice and thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I never cloned anything, but reading suggests that it is possible to clone ANY plant. get your clone from a portion of plant with no balls. I don't see why it won't work. At worst, you won't be any worse off than u are now. Please update results. I am very interested to know how this works out!

    Gene mutations are gene mutations.

You will not be abe to clone without your clone being a hermie.

    End of story.

Thanks for the input guys! HARDDON, the reason I was confused about this is that the hermie in question was a female, before it stressed. This is why I was having such a hard time answering this for myself, because in this case it wasn't a gene mutation right? The hermaphrodism was caused by an environmental factor, but in any event, I am going to give this a try in a month and see what happens. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, I thought preserving a strain was worth a try. I'll be watching for update. I hate to see genetics end badly

Harvest her branches ( leave some green), chop off as many of the flowers as you can and re-vedge. The genetics will still hermi if put under the same stress conditions, so try to avoid those (heat you said ?).

Returning a plant back to veg is never a good idea. Why didn't you clone before flower?

These plants were grown from seed, and I have never cloned from sex, so unfortunately we didn't know she was a she until it went into flowering and now that we have a female, well sort of, this is kind of a last ditch effort to preserve the genetics.

Just let her hermie and keep the seeds that she makes.

That will make those seeds produce nothing but DITCH DIRT and SCHWAG!
    pull her and burn her.
