Flowering question
so ive heard alot of different light schedualling from different people and so far the only one to make sense is 24 hours for vegging lol.
my plant is about 3 and a half weeks old now (her name is mama =]) and ive been LSTing her (hoping its a she) for a couple days now which is working lovely (i think?). in either case, im hoping to acheive between 4 to 6 stalks sumwhere around 3 feet tall each and im running my plant on 2 x 18 inch flouros and 2 x 27 watt solar CFL's, surrounded by tinfoil, all neatly planted in about a 4 or 5 gallon container (some no name potting mix, perlite, and liquid nutes here and there). my confusion lies here....
to acheive the standards i want from my plant, how long must i keep it on this 24 hour lighting schedual before flowering? i was assuming 2 months total but im coming up on 1 month and my plant dosnt even have secondary growthes as large as an inch (though i know alot can be done in a short time with cannabis)
ALLSOOOO
are there steps i need to take for flowering to help give my plant time to mature or sumthing? i saw on Bakas first grow log that he has his plant flowering but hes only giving it 2 hours of darkness a day? i was under the impression that u jump it directly into 12x12, but then again ive heard sum talk here and there of 8 and 16.. HELP ME!!! im so confused:wtf:
alsoo (last time, i promise) i have another little buddy coming up (her names bertha =]) only a few days old, i want to (so to speak) 'speed-grow' her (again, hoping its a she), and just get a quick yeild of sum funky shit, what would be a good lighting schedual for sumthing like that?

While I'm no expert, for vegging I do 24/0 or 18/6. For flowering I do 12/12 and nothing else. Your size desires will depend on the strain. Do you know if it's indica or sativa or some hybrid? From my experience with sativas, they shoot for the stars after you switch the light cycle to flower them. Indica does the same thing but not to the degree of a sativa. If you're wanting 4 to 6 stalks up to three feet tall, you might need some more light.

i was hoping u wouldnt say that about the lights =/. I dp plan to invest into 2 more of the same CFL's but no more than that, if that is not adequate then i suppose ill have to settle for what i get.. ive invested a good deal of money into this plant, i want to make sure i got plenty more than my moneys worth lol. other than more lights, liquid karma (which is so hard to find offline) and more water, i wont be buying anything else seeing as i have about as much as i really care for. we'll just have to see how it goes
as far as strain, i couldnt tell u! i was given a generously filled bag of seeds from my friend and he said "good luck on getting a propper seed if u only plan on a couple plants, theres a good amount of seeds in there that i found in funky sack's, but an even better amount of seeds from dirt trees" so im just crossing my fingers. i could def tell good trees and bad trees apart, but based on just the stem and leaves at this early stage, i couldnt tell what it is lol. how come noone makes any mention of ruderalis? isnt that a sub species of cannabis?

This taxon includes wild or feral Cannabis plants. In the absence of selective breeding, these plants have lost many of the traits they were originally selected for, and have acclimatized to their locales. Plants of this type are often short, branchless, and early-flowering. The plants usually have low levels of cannabinoids, and a low ratio of THC to CBD, and thus are of little use as a source of drugs.[3] However, so-called "indica" drug strains are sometimes cross-bred with "ruderalis" to produce high THC plants having the hardiness and reduced height of "ruderalis".
The term "ruderal" was originally used in the former Soviet Union to describe populations of hemp that had escaped cultivation and adapted to the surrounding region. Plants of this type are widespread throughout central and eastern Europe, including Lithuania, Belarus, Latvia, and Estonia. Similar populations can be found in most of the areas where hemp cultivation was once prevalent. The most notable region in North America is the Midwest, though populations occur sporadically throughout the United States and Canada. These plants have escaped from cultivation more recently, and often grow larger than the ruderal plants in Europe.
Cannabis users often call this feral Cannabis "ditch weed." Outside of its native range, it is regarded as an invasive plant. Despite years of government-sponsored eradication programs, these feral plants still remain in bountiful abundance.
It has several times been proposed that this taxon be recognized as a distinct species, called C. ruderalis.
not my info, from wikipedia. basically it's what, when crossed with sativa/indica makes it auto flower, eg lowryder, if i'm not mistaken.
as far as lighting schedule, 18/6 or 24/0 and 12/12 for flowering. seems to be the norm from everything i've read.
as far as the lighting goes, you asked what would help your bertha grow fast for a funky yield, well getting more lights would help. you can paint the inside of your grow box flat white. aluminum has a percentage of light reflected of 70-75 while flat white has a value of 85-93 and just to round it out mylar has a value of 90-95.
what is your temperature running at?

lights? well yah i gotta get more but im not the richest guy in the world lol cut a lil slack till i get payed again
temperature i have no idea to be honest it seems faily cool and because its a short area that im growing in where i have a fan blowing into a corner so the whole area is getting wind circulation, all the air moves out and in from my little grow corner.cheeks burnin, weed turns me on to sermons

i feel ya on not being the richest man in the world. check out my grow. i've got maybe $80-100 invested.
you should consider the white paint. and get a digital thermometer/hydrometer (you should be able to get both for around $10. shoot to keep your temp between 72-78F when you are running the lights. as far as the rest of the lights, you can just add as you go. no worries.
as far as the light schedule, when your plant(s) are in veg you run your light more than 12 hours, one of the if not the most common is 18/6. some prefer 24/0. when you are ready you put your plant into flower. they need at least 12 hours of continuous darkness. don't allow any light to get in during dark periods as this promotes vegatative growth and not budding. when you change the light cycle you are simulating natures cycle of telling the cannabis plant that it is time to flower and produce seeds because it's almost winter, hence the buds.
you might also want to invest in a timer for your lights. you can get a cheap model that plugs into the wall that your lights plug into that will control the light cycle for you. can get one for between $3-5. the more light the plants get the more growth. approximately 2/3 of your growth will happen AFTER you put you plants into flower. this varies strain to strain and is just a rough estimate.
also you can make sure the spectrum of your lights is correct for the stage of growth that you are in. for veg you want 6500K which is towards the blue end of the spectrum and for flower you want 2700K which lies more towards the red/orange side of the spectrum.
are you feeding any nutes? this should get you started.

well the CFL's i say this "MFG Model # : 5M82755K" is that anythign related to the numbers ur discussing? if it helps the brand of lights are these
n:vision 27 Watt Daylight Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL), 1 Pack - 5M82755K at The Home Depot
i should get a thermometer if its that cheap, however my real concern is how to actually change the temperature issue once i can see that i have one (if supposing i do, im positive that it never gets colder than 72, and doubt that it gets about 85 but i wont deny that it could hit say 81 or 82 (dangerously close, and i WILL be getting mores lights
nutrients, of course. miracle grow single packet water dilutants, 24-8-16, recomends 1 packet for one gallon (if using outdoors) and 1 packet for 2 gallons if indoor (i use 1 packet per 4 gallons, and i will increase the dose to 1 packet per 3 gallons once i use my first gallon, then after i use the 1 per 3 gallons, ill move to 1 per two, and leave it at that. until ive baught some liquid karma my decided feed schedual is.... half gallon of feed (done today) then 2 days later, half gallon water, half gall feed, half gall water. once ive bought my liquid karma (if i can fuckin find it) ill be using that in my plain water so that its half gall feed, half gall karma, half gall feed, half gall karma. (still trying to decide the dosage of Lk appropriate for this schedual and dose of ferts)cheeks burnin, weed turns me on to sermons
