Plants turning VERY YELLOW! PICS INCLUDED!

Please any input would be great at the moment
I currently have 12 girls growing and theyre rate has really slowed down. As well they have started to curl alil and turn yellow yellow yellow. All under a 125watt HPS and has a constant fan blowing air around them with a lil vent.

Any help would be great!

Troubleshooting Form

Fill that out as best as you can, it'll give people a better idea what might be causing the problem. Next time around, you might want to consider lightening up the soil with some perlite. If that soil is prefertilized, it might simply be too 'hot' for your seedlings. Seedlings generally don't need fertilizer until the fourth week of growth, or longer sometimes if the soil is already rich in nutrients.

thanks man! yea the soil were using is supposly "worm castings" so idk, but it looks more like fuckin fertilizer and pieces of wood haha. well heres the chart filled out, hopefully this will help!! thanks

EX: that black molasses is impossible to find here aswell....

Haha, that's pretty much what worm castings are -- fertilizer (worm poop) mixed with pieces of compost/wood/soil, etc. And they're definitely too hot for young seedlings, at least when being used alone (and nothing to aerate the soil). The castings themselves basically turn to a viscous sludge when wet, and are a terrible environment for roots by themselves.

If those cups have been transplanted recently into the pots, and I mean very recently (1-2 days), you can probably still take them out of the holes they're sitting in and mix in some perlite with the soil. (I'd make it at least a 4:1 ratio of soil/perlite.) You can get bags of perlite at Home Depot for just a couple of bucks. Also, get yourself a pH tester soon, and find out the pH of the water in your home. Bottled water isn't going to provide secondary elements that you would normally find in tap water, and isn't usually necessary. Also, if your soil mix has peat in it, you'll definitely want to keep an eye on the pH of your soil runoff, as peat has the tendency to make conditions too acidic. Check eBay, Craigslist, etc., for good quality digital pH testers, or you can probably find the liquid/strip test kits at Home Depot or Walmart in the pool maintenance and aqarium departments.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your current seedlings, but they look pretty badly burned. Worst case scenario you'll have a better idea of what you should do next time. :thumbsup:

Are those clay pots?
If they are I would pickup some cheap plastic ones. The clay ones tend to suck the moisture out of your soil.

Bottled water= drinking or distilled? Either way, switch to tap water.
You REALLY need to know your temperature.
Also, you need to have a proper exhaust for your room that removes hot air, and a passive intake near the floor that allows cool fresh air to replace it.
Why are there plastic cups sunk into the dirt in the pots?

Looks like some combination of overfertilization, overwatering, and overheating.

the soil has no brand name, its from a local nursery and it just came in a white bag with no tags or nething. the guy just said it was wormcastings. yea i think its the soil mostly because after watering it, you come back like 3-4hrs later and its like fucking sand from the beach, super hot.

The bottled water is drinking. The pots are plastic, look like clay. the plastic cups are cut off at the bottom and placed around the plant and we filled it with more dirt cuz they were too tall and dinky.

agree. start with a plain unfertilized potting soil ( like hyponex). You can add you worm castings and perlite to it. I mix 40# potting soil, 20# composted manure, 10# worm castings, bag perlite, bag vermiculite, 1 cu ft peat moss.
Should be good neutral ph to slightly acid. But if too low of ph add lime.

You can't grow in straight worm castings. They are an additive, not a soil. You need to start with a soil base that is appropriate to the species and life stage, then if you want to add organic amendments, you can.

dude thank you! did not know that, this again is my first time growing but im learning a great amount with yalls help:thumbsup: thought it had to be one or the other, but ofcourse it makes sense mixing it with soil and other compounds like perlite, moss, guano, etc.
