Attn: KnotMe66 or others Frozen Urine Question

Hey everybody. I have about 6 ounces of frozen urine (My cousin doesn't do any drugs or prescriptions) to sub with and I have some questions about how to store it and thaw for use.
    1. Should I store this in separate 2 ounce containers or should I put it in one container and thaw and pour what I need?
    2. If I freeze as 1 container, do I thaw all the way or just enough to pour out what I need.
    3. How long will it last after thawed on the day of the test?
    4. Do I need to strain it for any parts that separate?

    Thanks in advance

If you have access to a couple of 2 oz containers, by all means make use of them. 2 oz is enough sample for analysis anyway.

If you do discover sediments or other foreign matter after thaw-out, they can be filtered out. An old section of pantyhose works wonders for the job.
And for a peace of mind, test the sample with a validity strip to make sure the pH, SG, and creatinine check out okay.

For starters....BURNTOAST did a great job at helping. I'm going to add my answers so that you can have added info. Now you are talking my language. I have used frozen sample many times and they all passed a lab test. For your answers....

    1. I reccommend the 2oz bottles. That way you only have to worry about thawing what you will need.

    2. If you use one larger bottle, thaw ONLY until it gets slushy and pour out what is needed. Then REFREEZE the rest as soon as possible. Urine is good frozen for a year or year and half in air tight containers. It's a good ideal to mark date on bottle so you know when the "shelf life" is over. It's good in just a fridge for approx 5 days.

    3. Urine is "good" for approximately 8 hours at ROOM TEMP. If it get's to room temp for ONLY a couple of hours, make a note and refreeze.

Feel free to ask away if you need more info.

This may seem kind of redundant, but when I defrost it should I just take it out the morning of and let it defrost on its own or should I put it in the fridge the night before? Can I microwave it just before going or just use the hand warmer to keep it from going bad.

That would depend on how much time you have until your scheduled U/A.

Human urine can be microwaved, but I generally dont recommend it because human urine is bio-hazardous and should not be in an area where food/utensils are involved.

If you know ahead of time, defrost in fridge 24 hours prior to use. Burnt Toast said something I didn't think to mention. The microwave......I have used a tiny office like one I have in my basement. I personally didn't want to mix drug testing urine around my food areas. Another option is to place in a cup of boiled water for about a minute.

Ok so I subbed for my PO test. I will get a call in a few days if I didn't pass, but I know the urine I used will pass for sure.
Just to make sure I did it right. At around 2:30 I took the 2 oz bottle out of the freezer and defrosted it in warm water. Then I put on my man grapes for about 1.5 hours and it was at 96 degrees. I poured all of it into the specimen cup. The only question I have is whether the testing place will be able to tell its age? When I shook it up it didn't seem to be as bubbly?
    Thanks again.

First of all....NO....age, gender, pregnant, etc are not determine with just a drug test....just drugs!! If your sample was indeed completely clean then I would almost bet you have NO problem since your temp was acceptable range. Let me give you a word of advice.....DON'T believe you won't have another drug test before you sign off papers to be free. I was led to believe I had all the drug testing done that was suppose to be done before I signed my papers. I thought my last one was the one I took a week before my PO signed my freedom papers. Surprisely, I had 1 days notice that I had yet another test...completely observed...before her signing my walking papers. I would taper back some on the smoking for the last few weeks just in case they try to throw a curve on ya. Maintain exercise, metamucil and good eating habits until you get that signature from your PO. Just be safe and come back to visit us......OH....let us know when you find out that you passed.
