I'm assuming you're growing in soil, so watering by a timer could get a little difficult, unless you have a very weak water pump and a digital timer that goes by the minute instead of something like a 15 minute interval...

If you have a digital timer and can find a small (read: very weak) water pump, you can take a 5 gallon bucket with the water and nutes (ph balanced, of course) you would use to water them in a week and then set the water pump (through the timer) to turn on for a minute or two once a day.

Basically you would need to play with the set up long enough to understand how much water will actually be given to the plants and when. Don't want to over/under water them... any more details you can give? This was just a shot in the dark, but hopefully it gave you some insight!

I'm here to help.
