Bought a vaporizer and have a few questions

Hey all

I recently quit tobacco and decided to do weed only instead. I rolled my joints with some tobacco to help them burn better but I have to do them pure now. I really don't like them like that, makes me cough a lot and its still bad for the lungs.

So I read up a bit on vaporizers and I bought one, coming in the mail now (Vapir Air 5.0). I know the volcano is supposed to be the best but it's too much money for me atm, maybe sometime in the future.

Anyways I have some questions on how vaporizers work:

1) Approximately, how many balloons will one gram fill up (vapir normal ones)

2) Approximately again how many baggies will it take to get you fuzzy -> high -> smashed

3) After you finish with your weed and the vaporizing session but there is still some THC left on it (its still green), what do you do with it? Do you thrash it or save it? Can you use it the next day and still get high? Or will the heating it went through f**k it up?


basically I'm simply concerned on weed consumption changes when I switch to vaporizer. Will it save me money or the opposite?

I've never used a Vapir, but I have owned about a dozen different vaporizers, including the herbalAire, which does bags. So here's my 2 cts.

Approximately, how many balloons will one gram fill up?

Do you plan to get about 6 people high? If you load til it's full, you'll still get most of your vapor in the first bag. Filling a bag with a lot of vapor, so that it looks like smoke, is inefficient in my experience. The bigger the vapor hit, the more you waste on exhale. The THC in vapor isn't absorbed by the body as quickly as with smoke, so it pays to hold your hit.

That would depend on how tired or fresh I was, what kind of a mood I was in, whether I'd just eaten or not, what strength herb I was vaping, and my body chemistry's not yours. So that question really can't be answered in any meaningful way.

There should be very little, if any, green left. Doesn't mean there's not a little THC left though. Depends on the temp you used the first time through.

You can revaporize it at a higher temp. You get more toxins with higher heat though, and it depends on what temp you used the first time through. You can also process it and make an edible.

Most people find they use less with vaporizing, but if you fall into the trap of thinking you need to see vapor as thick as smoke, you may find yourself using a lot. You can get good, effective vapor hits without feeling anything on inhale, or seeing anything on exhale.

And while I'd recommend a herbalAire or Extreme over a Vapir, you don't need to spend $500+ on a Volcano. Either of those two will do just as well with bags, and the Volcano won't do direct draw.

So as long as the baggy fills up (if everything is set up correctly in the vaporizer), even if it looks clear, it should still have THC Vapor in it and get you high, yes?

Unfortunately I already got the vapir, I kinda regret it now that I read about other vaporizers. But as long as it does it's job (get me and my friends high), I don't care that much.

I can give you the definite answer to your question! I have used a vapir 5.0 for quite a while although I did recently upgrade to a better vaporizer, I am very familiar with the vapir. The ideal temperature setting for the vapir is 360 degrees F. You simply preheat the unit to 360 F and then put your herb filled disk into the drawer and insert the drawer into the unit and either have a whip attached or a bag cuz the moment you slide the drawer in, you will start instant vaporizing. Make sure when you first fire the unit up that you have the fan setting set to high and then kick it down to the lowest setting. Use the middle fan setting to fill up your balloons as this gives a decent amount of vapor and towards the end of each balloon filling, kick it up to high to blast all the rest of the vapor out of the tubing. And make sure you have another balloon ready to hook up to the unit and keep the fan setting on low when changing out bags as not to lose too much of your vapor between bag switches. Also, ALWAYS LET THE UNIT COOL DOWN BEFORE COMPLETELY SHUTTING DOWN!!! It will fuck up the unit over time if you don't do this! hope this helped! Oh yeah, you can expect to get about 3 bags off of a gram of herb usually.

Damn it the package got held through customs and it wont arrive until monday and apparently I have to pay import tax (i'm in europe).

Anyway, SAP i wanna ask you about the whip method. If you just want to do on the whip how fast is the vapor coming? Can you "pause" it or does it just keep going and you have to inhale like crazy so it doesn't go away? lol

Honestly, you have to keep hitting the whip because you cannot turn off the vapir's fans without turning the unit off. You are in a catch 22 cuz its a forced vapor type whip which means that you have no choice but to have the fans running which means constant vapor flow. I recommend just filling the bags instead since you cannot stop the air flow. That is why I upgraded to an v tower extreme and it works like a million bucks!
