The effective light only goes a couple of feet max. Is most of the die-off twords the bottom of the plant, where there is likely not enough light?

So you are using the BB as a stand-alone nute? I use FF 3 part (Grow Big for veg, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom for flower) and at around week four or five, I start with the Cha Ching, at it's lower dilution rate.

FF has a schedule if interested:
FoxFarm Soil & Fertilizer Company
Only thing I do different than the schedule recommends, is to cut-back on the Big Bloom to half of what they recommend. (and I don't use the Beastie Bloomz or the Open Sesame)
