Even though the law will not go into effect for a couple months Hampden District Attorney William Bennett said to the Republican of Springfield newspaper that, "I'm going to act as if the law were in effect now." He also said that he doesn't think that the number of charges dismissed will be significant. Although I believe that a mojority of the people busted for having pot on them the amounts were in quantities less than an ounce so im pretty sure the number will be pretty significant. A lawyer representing the Committee for sensible marijuana policy also said that the two months before Question 2 goes into effect will be necessary in order for the state to conform to the new law(make more drug awareness programs). Good luck massachussetts.
