I don't really care for most mainstream rap, mostly big bass and light lyrics reverting to time tested money making formats. But hey, to each their own. I personally really like the movement of underground hip-hop that emphasizes lyrical content, but still lays down some fat beats. Take 50 Cent's new album. Sucks. No Dre=Nothing worth listening to. 'Ol mushmouth mumbles his way through 15 or so tracks that are mediocre at best and downright terrible at worst. But I digress...

Hieroglyphics, Del, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Eyedea & Abilities, Busdriver, Sage Francis, Souls of Mischief, Pharcyde, anything with Dan the Automator - especially Deltron 3030 and Handsome Boy Modeling school, Devin the Dude, Spearhead, the list goes on and on...

Forgive me, for I am stoned, but check out labels like Rhymesayers, Hiero Imperium, Quuanum, Epitaph is releasing more and more hip hop labels and so far most of what I have heard is great.

Oh yeah, I just saw Souls of Mischief a couple weeks ago, and I'll be going to see Atmosphere 4/15! I could go see Bone Thugs & Tech N9ne, but I dont want to pay for a $30 ticket just for Tech N9ne, he's suposed to be crazy in concert.

Peace
