yeah palin was a disappointment...it must be particularly hard for women to see her empty head bouncing off that glass ceiling...BUT she was smart enough to become a governor...she won debates in alaska and she is knowledgeable about the energy industry...she could study current events and foreign affairs, and hire a PR consultant to rebrand herself in time for 2012

but i think the republican party is going to distance itself from this loss and do some rebranding of their own (which won't include palin)...obama is probably going to shoot himself in the foot with the fiscal issues (budget deficits and trade deficits), and open the door to his critics by communicating with unfriendly foreign governments...the republicans could capitalize on that by changing their colours to become protectionist fiscal conservatives opposed to 'liberal' trade policies
