They're going to need to find someone who looks like Sarah Palin and thinks and talks like McCain, preferably with more moderate political leanings like his to pull in the undecideds. I'll tell you one thing, the lady had star power. I will miss seeing her on TV. She was/is a nice looker.

I really hope the gop can come up with a true conservative to run in 2012. I don't know who it would be. There doesn't seem to be a conservative party any more. They've done such a good job of ripping off the constitution and the people I don't think they are going to be a viable party for a long time. Unless Obama masively screws up he'll have a second term.

Agreed. They need to rework themselves in a lot of ways itf they are going to have any viability.

I predict that if Sarah Palin were to win the Presidency in 2012, then all the crackpot 2012 end-of-the-world scenarios would definitely come true.

The GOP needs to focus its efforts on reforming itself rather than pointing fingers at this point. That sort of behavior is exactly the reason the country is swinging dem right now.

If they wise up and cut back all of the idiots the neo-cons played to (Jesus freaks, hardcore conservatives, etc.) and start moving back to the middle, they can start using the whip-smart republicans that they lost. I don't think the new GOP is going to have any room for a beauty-queen like Sarah Palin.

I hope not, anyway. I'm hoping everyone takes a good look around after what happened Tuesday and realizes what the fuck is actually going on.

At any rate, I look forward to a reformed Republican party. The day I can choose between two great candidates will be a great day for democracy.

They shoulda gone with Condoleeza Rice. Whether or not she is as evil as our generation's very own Tricky Dick is debatable, but there's no arguing she's got a brain and some serious star power. Presence, I guess you'd call it. She both frightens and impresses me. And she would have brought both gender and race factors to the McCain ticket, which he needed.
Good thing he didn't figure THAT one out, lol!

yeah condi would have been a good pick for mccain, and a solid future republican candidate for president...it is worrying how quickly she went from saying that iraq was not a threat to saying that we cannot wait for evidence of iraqs WMD to appear in the form of a mushroom cloud over an american city, but most politicians were guilty of the same poor judgement at the time
