Two plants to a 5 gallon hydro bucket?
Based on my own experience I have to respectfully disagree with this statement, at least as it applies to DWC hydro systems.

If you look at my current grow log, you'll see the six plant, single res system I use. I've removed plants from it on every single grow I've done - a couple of times after the plants were pretty good sized. If you look at this picture you can see how big they were last grow, and I removed three plants without any problems at all.
That said, the general rule of thumb for a DWC seems to be 3 gallons per plant. Putting two plants in a single 5 gallon bucket might be a bad idea, unless you're going to flower really early to keep the plants small. If you're growing from seed, that wouldn't be possible since it can take a couple of weeks of 12/12 for them to show sex. In that time they would probably have grown to large to safely separate.

I wonder who your talking about? I have lots of experience from trying 1 to 4 in a 5 gallon dwc, 2 is doable 1 is better My yields are higher with 1 plant per bucket not by much though. Its just easier to maintain a single plant per bucket over all.

There's exceptions to every rule .
Skeet brought up my biggest objection of all = competition of space .
Clones usually grow at the same rate / share the same charecteristics and there's less competition , but I was brought up to run 1 per. bucket .
We tried multiplant systems / ideas in the DWC club thread . Ppl. tried segregation - pantyhose , screening , you name it and they grew together .
To each they're own .

I realize that they do compete for space and you get about the same amount. Just after the first of the year my time is up and I will try buckets with one each. I think I can get 6 in a 4x4 room maybe only 4. Back in the day Zandor showed me one of his that yielded 5 pounds from a 5 gallon bucket. That's what I want. Peace guy's.

if they are clones or feminized seeds and you don't intend on ever taking the plants out then yes, by all means go for it. if you read the threat you'll see that if they are not clones or fem seeds then you will run into difficulties. i run 8 per 10 gallon bucket myself.

if they're clones or fems and u don't ever intend on taking them out then you also don't need to worry about the screen divider. use a screen if you intend on plucking some out at a later date, it should fix the problem.
