    HHMMMM i wonder,all replies welcome

I was wondering something. I am not quite a GURU yet but i had no other screen names. Now i just finished reading a post about regererating plants, and the question popped in my head... instead of pulling the plants completely at the end of the season can you leave them in the ground and just cuts the buds off and cover them with a piece of cloth and leave them for the winter and in the spring pull the cloth off and regerate your plants that way......sort of like rose bushes????? that would save a hell of a lot of time and stress plus you would have all females for next season. Has anyone ever tryed this?!?!?

that wont work! if u want ur plants to survive during winter, ur gonna have to get a heat blanket, that u can get at a hydroponic store. u should dig ur plant up and put it under 24 hours of light until next grow season to ensure its survival. i know people who kept there plants alive during winter, but it wasnt easy, they had to take constant care of it to keep it alive. just cut off ur buds and regenerate it under 24 hours of light inside, marijuana plants dont do to well under intense cold! but it will make em turn purple!!!!!!

is it in a green house? I expect not right? anyways yeah ya can't just put a blanket over them... plants need to photosynthesis in order to produce energy to survive. marijuana plants are an "annual plant" . thats how mother nature created them ... as sensi said they are a bitch to keep alive over winter. I would recomend taking some clones if possible and trying to keep them alive rather then the whole plant.. where do you live?

I live in the northeast and it gets cold in the winter. i didnt think it would work but i know from experience that rose bushes and some types flowers that i have grow back every spring. i was just wondering if maybe the winter would just freeze the plants in place and when it warmed up and the sun started to shine better if maybe it would regenerate on its own. i doubted it. just a thought that popped in my head and i thought maybe out of all the members on the boards maybe somebody tried it before. but i gotta take off. so i will check in every once and a while. thanks for the replies. peace!

Dingo has the best idea , Take as many clones as possible of your best yealding plant after harvest .
Cuttings taken from a plant at this stage can take a month to root so be patient , but at the end you have lots of the best to replant next spring.
