Get a cat just the smell of the cat will keep away most mice, and the ones that are still around the cat will catch them.

how about a cat?
Or sticky glue traps along a wall. Mice hug walls usually when traveling about a room.
MICE IN THE HOUSE IS COMMONPLACE IN THE COUNTRY especially in colder weather during fall as they seek shelter.
now rats are a differant story!

you could get a snake! or if you don't like snakes, how about a ferret! they hunt rats by nature. one of mine is really good at it.

It shouldn't take to long about 2-4 months.
I doubt you would have to much trouble introducing a pitbull puppy as long as the cat has been there for a while first, and when you first show them to each other watch the pitbulls reaction if tries to bite or snap at the cat scare it a little and eventually it will learn that the cat isn't a toy and isn't there to be eaten.

I'd stick with the traps and peanut butter...I like to talk to the mice on their way out the door....:stoned:...
ps ...use more smooth peanut butter on the trap......works 8 out 10 times...the little fuckers are smart. They ate my seeds in the pots...:wtf:...while germinating.
