short answer: incandescents have alot of energy in the 700-800nm range. MJ needs 730nm light to convert parts of the plant(phytochromes) back to a 660nm acceptable state. its a cycle. a better plan would be to use the incan's all day, then run incandescent black light party bulbs for 20-30 min after lights out. these bulbs have only 700nm and up and a small bump at 400nm w/ the rest blocked out. we did some testing on this and saw some better results.

long answer: theres a raging debate going on in the perfect LED thread with talks of all red "martian" nights and all sorts of other ideas. many have great merit and require much testing.

no, fluoros dont go that high as a rule, maybe hort. flouros. yeah I know it throws it out the window, but even with just the two 60w party bulbs for :30 min after will help alot and not add much at all to your usage.

Well Heres a little update I rearranged the setup better ideas coming so now I have the Procyon 17" from top of tallest plant One 4200k 18' floro and one 2700k Floro as vertical Lighting cycle is Procyon and fan 18/6 and the 2 floros 17 3/4on 6 1/4 off leaving the procyon on 15 minutes longer then the rest Just to chill the plants out before bed time Whatcha Think Heres some pics

looks good n8. but since you asked...lol, go get two 6500k bulbs for veg and youll be much happier come harvest time.:thumbsup:

once they get three sets of leaves you can prob. move flouros up to the edge of the pot.

im new to forums, so i really dont see anything else led related, sorry. just had a question about yield for LED's, yields per watt, or for 100watts. is the proycon or LEDs truly 4times more efficient HID:jointsmile:

for 100W, maybe an ounce... there are too many factors that could take that up or drastically down, but in general if yield is your goal then you may want to hold off for a year or so. there are many brilliant minds searching and testing right now.

Hey Sns Im going to move my procyon to 1 seed chamber for my seedlings and get a 250 watt hps and metal halide bulb with a lumatek digital ballast is that enough light? 2x2 so 4 sq feet at 250watts is 62.5 watts a sq ft should be good enough ?
