start by setting aside a couple hours to read the forums...knowledge is your best tool for this hobby

you perhaps are talking about your signature, i think u have to wait till u got registrered+ (im not sure) to get one

but its gonna be under USER CP, u make a sigi and it will be under every n each post u make

there are plenty of valuable info around, read up and do lots of searching.
dont forget to check the stickies, some good tips there as well in different sections of the forum

When I found this forum I also read it for hours. Now I have to find some time each day to see how some of the grow logs are going and also see if there are any important posts from the active forum characters. Good luck on starting a grow. If you haven't done anything like this before I'd suggest a low buck, ghetto set up and grow out some bag seed. All you really need is a good soil mixture, and if you're growing indoors, some proper lighting, a timer and a suitable place that will be dark when the lights are out.
