    Curing Question please read.

Last night I cut up all my buds and put them into large canning jars. I ended up with 13 big jars. Here is my problem. I have to leave for FLA tomorrow until next Tuesday. That is 6 days. Will it be okay it I have the jars sealed and in a box covered. They are in the dark. Until then I will be opening them up a few times a day for 15 minutes each. My buds are dry. Very nice and fluffy. It turned out to be decent too. I did not want to leave it hanging for another 6 days as it hung for 2 weeks and it is perfectly dry right now. So will those jars be okay if they are not opened for 6 days??? Or should I leave the tops off for 6 days?? Please advise I have come this far and I would hate to come home to mold. Which I don't really see them molding since they are nicely dried.....I do want to cure them so it is better stuff though.

Dont you have a trustworthy (preferably non pot smoking, lol) friend who could take care of your jars for a few days? I'd be scared of the mould issue too.

right b4 you leave if you open a jar and its all still dry and no smell of mold then you are good to go...but if not then just put in brown paper bag and keep in dark cool place..
    GOOD LUCK

Do NOT leave them in a closed container. They are way to new and wet. If you have to leave for few days you really need to lay them out on tray or in a card board box left open and in a closet till you come back. If they are only a day old I guarnatee you that even if you leave the lids off the jars you're going to have moldy buds when you get back.

Ok, so I'm just throwing this out there.....what if you put them in the fridge. I'm kind of high right now and it seems like a good idea. Like put them in a cake pan and suran wrap the top. Aww, I can see it now....:stoned:

not worth the risk of leaving it in an enclosed area.

I had that same problem once and I just put some little bags of silica from a box of new shoes into the container and left it sealed up for about a month. It was fine when I opened it.

Hang them upside-down until you return, they should be dry enough to cure in aerated jars by then.

Speaking of which, is anyone doing a straight dry and cure method on buds?

Done that myself. What I did was leave the pot in the jars, put the jars (no lids!) in a cardboard box in a cool, dry place like a closet. If the pot overdries just put a fresh pot leaf in each jar, cover and wait overnight. Next day the pot should be perfect and you can discard the leaf.
