My first grow. Real McCoy and Jack Herer

    EEK!

Don't trim off the big fan leaves bro! They are like solar panels for the plant, creating and storing tons of food for the rest of the plant! I think stinky has even said (not an exact quote) "trimming/cutting fan leaves on a plant is like taking an engine out of car to make it faster and lighter". The point is that it does not help things out. Just tie the leaves back next time.

Hopefully you didn't remove too many. I imagine you'll be fine either way. Plus the 250W HPS should give you plenty of penetration, so I wouldn't be too worried about the big fan leaves.

Other then that things look GREAT!

Keep up the great work man.

oSecretGardeno Reviewed by oSecretGardeno on . My first grow. Real McCoy and Jack Herer Alright guys i'm new to indoor growing, i've always done outdoor until now. My plants got taken this year and i'm fed up so i'm going indoor! I am growing Jack Herer and Real McCoy. I have 1 Jack plant and 2 Real McCoy. The light I am currently using makes me nervous. I'm not even a 100% sure what it is at this point ( I know it sounds bad but I got it from a friend and its working for now.) I will be ordering a 250 HPS and putting a Metal Halide conversion bulb in it for veg. Should have Rating: 5

Thanks a lot man I did not know that I won't remove anymore. I appreciate the information!!! I think the middle plant might possibly be a male... It looks like there might possibly be tiny balls just starting to form but not for sure it's been 7 days of flowering now. Is it going to hurt them at all if they grow into each other a lot? Thanks for all the help guys.

Well the middle plant was a male, so I got rid of it today. The plant on the right is a female, and the plant on the left looks like it might be a male but i'm not sure just yet. So I know that one of the Real McCoy's was male and one female. Hopefully the Jack Herer plant is female, but if not at least i'll have one. I'm going to go pick up some Fox Farm big bloom on monday and start feeding.

Alright the remaining two are female so thats some good news!!!! Just a few white hairs starting to pop up near the tops of the plants. I'll pick that fertilizer up tomorrow and start feeding sometime this week.

Lookin' good TDaddy.....thanks for the update. Perhaps you can steal a clone or two from the gals to continue the lines....Do you have more room now the boys are gone? It looks like the gals took over any available space! Peace

I wish I had room for clones but I don't! I'm going to be ordering some seeds in a month or so. I think I'm going to get lowryder and try that out for my next grow. Those two plants get bigger everyday it seems and the pistils on the right plant are starting to fill in nicely. I'll keep you guys updated!
