My first grow. Real McCoy and Jack Herer

Cool I have some bat guano from my outdoor this past year. I think i'll just go into the hydro store and possibly use the Ionic for blooming i remember reading it when i was there last time but can't quite remember the info. I know it had a low NPK. I'll figure it out. I'll put some pics up later in the week!

It is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow. It came all the way from CA to MI so it took about 6 days. I need to find out something to do about the smells though. I have an inline fan for exhaust, but no carbon filter, and my car just broke down so I really can't afford to buy one right now and making one doesn't seem very easy. I've spent a lot on this grow since its my first one and rent is coming up and my car is now having problems so i can't spend much more at all. I need some suggestions on what else I can do besides a carbon filter. A friend of mine just keeps a bucket of Pine Sol outside of this grow area and that eliminates the smell but I don't know how good that would be. The grow area is in a walk in closet that is in my bedroom. I have been keeping a window open during the day to keep it aired out in my room because it reeks, but it is getting very cold out now and I can't keep the window open forever. If the smell gets outside of my bedroom into the rest of the apartment I might have to terminate the grow. Any suggestions would be awesome guys. Thanks

Can't you just get ducting, stick your inline fan in there and shove a big bag of aquarium charcoal in front of the fan to absorb odors? That would only cost 20 bucks or so to engineer. Does that tent have a way to hook up fan ducting? Couldn't you use cheap plastic dryer ducting? Guess it depends on the fan.

LolaGal is on the right track...I searched the site and can't find anything on making a homemade carbon filter.
It involves drilling the shit out of a five gallon bucket with a small drill bit...I'm talking about alot of holes...A thick filter material is placed around the inside of the bucket...The bucket is then filled with activated carbon...Since you're using a 4'' inline fan,you then want to cut a 4" hole on a bucket cover...Now you just need to buy a 4" flange(about $10) and caulk it to the bucket cover...Connect your four inch duct hose to the fan and run it to the filter flange...
Don't quote me on the above as I've never made one but it's made something like that...Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in...:stoned:

Yeah I mean I would love to purchase a carbon scrubber right now but its just not possible. I will be buying one in the future for the next grow just not now. I'll try what Lolagal suggests and see how it works i'll let you guys no! Thanks. I got a little tuned up on friday night and left the camera over at a friends thats why no pics lately. I think i'll go pick it up tonight!

The tent has 4in and 6in flanges in it. Two of each. Could you give me some more info on how this set up will work please it would be much appreciated!

Tomorrow will be the first day of flowering for my plants. They've grown considerably large since the last photo. I hope to go get my camera tomorrow, my friend hasn't been home for the last few days so i've been screwed. The tent is up and functioning as well. Hopefully we'll see some pistils in a few days!!!!!
