Bug Bombs at Flower Week 6?
Hey friends.
I have had this CB PCO Total Release Fogger with Pyrethrins for a while now. I've used it in the past to kill thrips and it worked like a charm.
I had a friend come by this weekend and as we were looking at my babes that are currently 6 weeks into bloom he mentioned that he was having some spider mite problems at home. I had a mini heart attack and immediately imagined millions of mites jumping off his clothes onto my plants.
Would it be bad for me to use that fogger at 6 weeks? it says it's good for both food and non-food applications. I don't think there will be any infestation...i just wanted to bomb quick just in case, head any potential fuckers off at the pass...you know?
I added a fan (3 total in a 5x8x6 area) and have tons of air moving in there as i hear the mites hate high wind.
thanks.

That's not safe that close to harvest. Find a PURE pyrethrin fogger, hang no pest strips, interrupt the pests' life cycle (paper plate over top of pot), etc but no synthetics now!
Then use the bomb after harvest, 3 times, set off 4-5 days apart, before introducing new plants.

If you suspect mites, you might want to try a solution of 1 part isopropyl alcohol, 2 parts water, and a dash of Dawn dishsoap in a spray bottle. Mist the plants twice a day, not till they are soaking, but wet. I work at a University garden and we use this solution to control most pests, as it does not damage the plants and will kill most common pests. Also it is pretty darn safe to use for both people and the plants.
