    1st grow.... F*@*#!! terrible!!!!

    i stumbled across your thread and love it, you should collab with your friend get some cheap fluros so you can clone your newest strains. Build another inexpensive box to keep your clones in, you can also veg them there, or you can use your first box as a veg room.

    So while you're waiting for your flowering plants to finish up your clones are growing and big enough to flower by the time your current flowering plant are harvested. You can skip the seedling stage and always have a continuous harvestimp:. If you time it right.

    Big ups, let's keep as much green coming into the world as possible.

    Then there is only one known annual renewable natural resource that is
    capable of providing the overall majority of the world's paper and textiles;
    meeting all of the world's transportation, industrial and home energy needs;
    simultaneously reducing pollution, rebuilding the soil, and cleaning the
    atmosphere all at the same time...
    And that substance is - the same one that did it all before -
    Cannabis Hemp...Marijuana!

    thanks for stopping in nikjames.... we planned on splitting the colset up into two in the middle so 4 feet hight and have the plants all maxed out at 3. All the while using the top half for veggin clones. i wanted to do that at my grow but until the MMJ shit get rolling here in michigan i'm trying to keep it as small as possible (One or Two plants at a time). but hopefully i'll figure out something......

    Cool thread. Spent the last hour reading the whole thing. I love ghetto grows and have tried a lot of crazy shit myself.

    I came across this thread while searching the forums for info on transplanting and read your thread with a lot of interest and amusement.

    I'm doing a bit of research into what is the minimum volume of soil one can use to have optimal yield. I saw your photos of your poor plants crammed into their new containers and had to finish reading the thread to see how they made out.

    I don't have a car and getting soil really sucks. I feel like a major heatbag picking up and dropping off all these freakin bags of soil in a cab when there's 5 feet of snow on the ground. o.O

    My home-made hydro system WAS going fine, but something fluked up and I got mad root rot now with anything I try to put in it. So, I transplanted what I could into 2L pop bottles. I cut the tops off the bottles and poked holes in the bottoms. (gotta recycle y'know)

    The 2L pop bottles seem to work really well for the veg stage. I kept one of my plants as a mother in a 2L pop bottle for over 3 months before its roots looked really crammed up. I've put tin foil around some of them, and left others clear to watch the roots grow. Didnt notice any difference. The roots grew fine with the clear plastic.

    The 2L pop bottles are a nice shape to grow in. Tall and skinny...you can easily pack 20 or 30 under a single HID light.

    Some say you should have 1 cubic foot of soil per plant. I think that's way too much... 1 cubic foot is 28 liters! (7.5 US gal)

    Big pots and soil for flowering are expensive too.

    I think I've found the cheapest and easiest way to do the transplant for flowering: 2 weeks before flowering...buy 5 gal bags of soil....cut them in half....cut slits in the bottom of each half....and you have instant 2 planters with just enough dirt in each. You will need to put down plastic or something to deal with the run-off water when you water them.

    But yea, hope to see how things went with the grow now that forums are back up. Cheers!
    I was at the pet store buying a hamster and all I could think about was what kind of nutes I should get and how long I should keep it in veg for. I knew I had to get the hell out of there when I started thinking how I was going to LST the damed thing. imp:

    1st grow.... F*@*#!! terrible!!!!

    sorry i haven't updated on been on in like forever i been working my ass off at my bullshit job to get more funding for my side projects:thumbsup:

    I harvested both plants last month and both are smoked and gone now.... damn i miss those ladies i harvested half of big Bertha first then the rest off her two weeks later and got only about 1 1/2oz out of her... As for Rhonda i cut her down two weeks after i completely took down Bertha, and got about a 1/2oz.
    She had little buds throughout most of flowering but swelled in the last two weeks, maybe i should of let her go longer....:wtf: I feel as though the grow was successful it kinda suck because i only got like a little under 2oz out of it but, I SMOKE THE SHIT OUT OF IT and it was great.... felt like every blunt/joint/bowl kept me glued to my chair/couch/bed, very nice...
    Buds were sticky and compact, and when i say sticky in made like a friggin smack noise when you pulled ya fingers apart... i tried to take pictures but my camera got fucked up and i still haven't fixed it yet.....

    If anybody remembers the grow i was talking about that was gonna run concurrent with this one, i just started flowering a set of two 1 Aurora Indica and 1 Top 44. I tried to flower 2 Top 44 about 3 weeks ago but they both were male, shits weak.....

    I also kept 1 clone of big Bertha cause i like how well she grew, along with 1 3wk Aurora Indica in veg. I been looking on Htg cause i was interested in grabbing me one of those 150w hps for this grow. Any HPS users out there wanna help me out i know nothing about em. i still love ow i grew with CFL's those.
    thanks Detroitfish, Monkeybone, LolaGirl, and Hempfester for stopping in and checking up really appreciate it!!! how you guys grows goin??? maybe i should start a New log for my New grow, wha ya think???
