i think they need oxygen to germinate so if they sank in the cup of water they would be starved of oxygen. maybe thats why it didnt work
i always opt for the paper towel method from the start its always worked for me
i just place the seeds on a damp papertowel an put another paper towel over it place that in a ziplock bag and leave it somewhere warm. they normaly crack within about 30-40 hours
Yes, for a couple of days. I read some other threads were people swore by the glass of water method, so I don't know. I've got your preferred setup now, just with tupperware instread of ziplock. And I assume it would be warm under a big pile of socks?
DasPachy Reviewed by DasPachy on . Germinating - Where did I go wrong? Seeds are N. Lights, from a friend's outdoor grow. Picked 7 of the largest, darkest, mottled seeds that didn't crack when squeezed. Dropped in a shot glass full of water. After 3 days, nothing. Moved them to a tupperware and used the paper towel method. At the same time, picked out 7 more choice seeds and put them in the paper towel as well. Stashed the tupperware under a bunch of clothes (insulation to keep them warm, that was my thought) and after 3 more days, nada. The paper towel is still Rating: 5
