Anyway. Do we really care? And if we do, we clearly are really fucking stupid. Because there is so much worse shit going on then some random spaniard poking a bull to death.


So because there is "worse shit" happening it doesnt matter? I fail to see how the fact there is someone killing someone else makes torturing animals ok. There is always going to be murder, so by your logic anything not as bad as that is ok? Murder is worse than rape, is rape okay? Not worth crying over because "worse shit" is happening somewhere?

I can't believe I agree with deadboy on something, but he is absolutely right about this topic. Bullfighting is wrong and no one will change my mind about it. As far as the mantador, any idiot who gets in an arena with a bull, and misses with his sword, deserves to be shish-kabobed. Sport, yeah right.

Nowhereman, hunting is not neccesary.

F L E S H, you have just inadvertantly proven my point. BECAUSE we are the animal with the biggest brain capacity, we should be able to see that killing and eating another living creature is wrong. BUT, because we can 'think for ourselves', we have tricked ourselves into believing that its neccesary to eat meat to survive.

If somebody was to perform an autopsy on you after you die, they'lll find a load of partially digested meat in your stomach or intestines (can't rememeber which). Do you know why this is? It's because meat does not digest properly, ergo, humans are not designed to eat meat... Maybe we like it, but it doesn't mean it's essential to survival.

In my opinion, murdering a cow, dog, pig, fish, cat, human, or any living creature is equally disgusting. Just because most people believe that we are superior, and that its okay to kill other life to sustain ours, it doesnt mean im gonna. Im glad I became vegetarian when I did. I feel healthier, stronger, and a huge weight has been lifted off my consciousness.

P.S. If anyone feels the need to reply to me by offending me, telling me to fuck off, or calling me a 'hippy', 'commie' or 'liberal' then don't bother. Also, if you feel like trying to persuade me that eating meat is right, then don't bother. Just because the bible says its okay, doesn't mean it is, and you're not gonna change my mind. Keep your blood-thirsty, murderous opinions to yourselves. End of rant.

Naw, this wasn't my intention. Everyone who's commented on the subject has done so in a way that I can read just fine. ^.^ That's just the way I write when I'm expressing other people's opinions. It just makes me look cooler. -laughs- And I don't think there's anything wrong with being against hunting... just don't go cheering for some guy to get stabbed through his stomach with a Bull's horn, gored, and tossed around like a rag-doll as his internal organs get ripped about.

But seriously, how can someone say killing a bull with a sword is barbaric and then cheer for the goring and odds are bleeding to death of your fellow man? Doesn't this seem the least big hypocratic to you guys? I mean, so what the fellow man is a douche-bag who kills bulls in an 'inhumane' manner. He's still human, and thus, at least in my opinion, has alot more to live for then that bull ever did.

Anyway, I'm rooting for both of them to die. And some spectators.

The only thing I'm willing to admit is that we in the developped world eat meat way more often than we really should, yours truly included. But I would never say that eating meat is unnatural. We are omnivorous, just like a lot ape species. Animals in the wild instinctively know what they need to supplement their diet, and I'm positive that that instinct is still alive and well in humans.

Now, just because we don't need meat to survive doesn't mean we shouldn't be eating it at all. There are proteins and fatty acids that are extremely beneficial to your body that you get only from eating fish and chicken. I'd much rather get those nutrients the natural way rather than popping pills with synthetic versions. It's great that you feel better about yourself for being vegetarian, but that implies that you had a certain guilt beforehand. I feel no guilt or shame when I eat meat.

Encatuase, I know what you mean... Most people would root for the human over the animal, because most people think humans are superior to animals. Personally, I disagree. If a bull is put in to a situation where some dude is trying to kill it, then it's gonna fight back. If the matador dies, then it shouldn't have been there in the first place. The difference is that the bull is defending itself, and the matador is doing it for sport.
