The MMMA will be hosting a meet & greet after the Jan 5 public hearing. Please join us. Details TBA.

A tip of the toque to webmaster Brad who was able to get our website launched this week. We're still working out the last few bugs to meet our official launch date of Dec 15. But we're open now for pre-view. Many of the e-mail lists and member registrations were lost in the migration. Any mail sent to [email protected] in the last 48 hours has been lost in cyber space. Please re-send if you did not receive a reply to any messages sent recently. Members will have to re-register to participate in the forum at our new website. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

The proposed Administrative Rules for the Michigan Medical Marijuana program are now available for public review and comment: SOAHR Rules

Several of the proposed rules are problematic. Please consider submitting written comments and attending the public hearing, Jan 5, 2009. I have attached a tip sheet to help frame written comments. We're asking members to cc us copies of their written comments so that we can compile them into one document to be presented at the Jan 5 hearing.

Written comments may be sent to: Department of Community Health Bureau of Health Professions Lansing, MI 48909-8170 Attention: Desmond Mitchell, Departmental Analyst E-mail address: [email protected]

The public hearing will be: Monday, January 5, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. at the State Secondary Complex, General Office Building, 7150 Harris Drive, Conference Room A, Lansing, Michigan.

The MMMA is organizing a meet & greet for after the public hearing. Details TBA soon. We'll congregate at a friendly locale in the Lansing areaâ??with food service of courseâ??where we can have a chance to network and get to know each other. I am also inviting organizers of various groups to give short presentations. Come and meet your fellow MMMA members, meet representatives of the various groups and help us build our community. Our strength is in our unity.

If you would like to organize an event in your community to inform about the new Michigan Medical Marijuana program, let me know at [email protected]. We have members all across the state ready to speak at your event. And speaking of which, I had a request today for a speaker to address an AP high school class at a private school in Dearborn about medical marijuana. Any volunteers in the Dearborn area able to help out? Time/date flexible.
