Man I think the biggest problem with legalization will by the price will go up and the quality will go down..

Hmmm, if the quality dropped and price increased then surely that would create a new Black Market?

Nah, it would be taxed heavily but the end-price would likely be the same imho. Quality would be better but perhaps with limits on certain hashes/oils/budder etc.

But for now (in the UK at least) this is just a pipe-dream - we are stupidly reclassifying cannabis to a higher level next year. Going from U.S equiv Schedule III to Schedule II - (UK Class C to Class B) as far as I understand it.

Now, I'm all for legalizing pot. Like everyone, I get paranoid. a\I hate being paranoid, but I've done some of the funniest and stupidest things because I was paranoid and I don't want to lose those moments. If weed were legal, there would be no more paranoia.

i dunno about you, but i don't get paranoid about cops bursting through my door. i get paranoid about more realistic things.. oh shit did i leave the stove on? did i miss work? is anyone at work going to be able to tell im blazed? am i acting real stupid? is everyone talking about me? will i ever amount to anything? is smoking weed going to kill me?

You never know, it depends on who seizes control of the market.

Think about it, as soon as it becomes legal, the big grow-ops will start pumping out all the weed they can since a bunch of newbies will be looking for fresh game.

Quality will for sure go down, but I'm talking about your every day weed. Nothing with a name but not piss-poor stuff.

And in terms of price, just look at alcohol. Here in Manitoba, we pay about $30 for a 2-4 of beer. In Quebec, it's almost half the price. When the government regulates this kind of stuff, it gets out of hand. Just look at cigarettes. I mean, no one should smoke today's cigarettes with all the shit they put in them, but they probably cost 1/100th of what you pay for it.

Then again, the whole supply/demand thing could even out. Growers will grow more and buyers will buy more.

my theory is this: I smoke this to relax and enjoy it. fuck the paranoia! I will be willing to pay the same expensive price but get it legally without having to worry about the legal/social and permanent blackhole that can suck u in forever with 1 mistake or through one asshole!
