Topping a plant
A friend of mine topped my last harvest and the plants never really got over 3 ft tall, they were short and bushy. I'm 12 days into flowering and my new plants are as big as the last ones when finished! How do you top a plant correctly, and is it too late to do it now?
Also, he said when you clone them there's a way to cut the branches where 2 will come out from each cut? I'm kinda retarted when it comes to this so detailed explanations would help. Thanks everyone!myjohnson9 Reviewed by myjohnson9 on . Topping a plant A friend of mine topped my last harvest and the plants never really got over 3 ft tall, they were short and bushy. you dont want to top a plant in flower
if your plants are 2 weeks into flower they shouldnt grow much more
if you top a plant in veg it usually grows 2 main leads instead of one and if you search theres somthing in a thread around here called the fim technique which can produce up to 6 i think if done right

On topping your plants during vegitation, how many times should you top it?I have 5 growing in a pretty good size closet in 5 gallon buckets,& i figured topping them about 3 times would be enough so that i would get say 6 to 8 runners on each plant!I do believe that would be enough or would that be to many runners & should i just top them 2 times so i'd have 4 bigger colas?I have 6 x 8 & 8 foot high closet so i was going to let them grow around 4 foot during veggie state before i put them into flowering stage!

Midniter, Plants will generally double in size during bloom stage, if you veg to 4 ft in an 8 ft closet, you may run out of room for your lights! good luck.
