Foliar Application Rates
Hey guys. Lately i have been searching for some more info on foliar feeding. I am interested in how many times a day you can foliar feed, and what the ppm should be. Also what the ph is supposed to be, and if its different for various mediums.
Its my understanding that you can foliar feed daily if you want to, and use any fertilizer. Most people talk about useing foliar as a first aid to help a plant take up micro nutrients when it is deficient. Apparently the macro nutrients are harder to utilise through foliar, but still do some good. Anyways i feel for some reason that tons of foliar spraying is good, so i came to check out my thoughts and get some questions answered.
Heres my situation. I am growing diesel ryders in soil under a 400watt hps, with a mh converter bulb. Day 13 ppm is 300 for soil waterings. I also foliar with liquid light/gh micro/gh grow/gh bloom/MagiCal/Thrive Alive Green. I do liquid light by itself for 2 days and mix the rest up throughout the week. I use penetrator at 1/4 the recomended dose which works out for me. I have been currently useing >100 ppm solution at PH6 2-3 times a day. No negative effects so far. I turn my oscilating fan up a speed after i mist them so they dry a bit faster and so they dont burn. I always use 1/4 the recomended dose of penetrator which seems to work efficiently.
I love foliar feeding because it gives me something to do with the plants. But i am still wondering if this is doing something negative like teaching the plant not to grow roots because it has other means of getting nutrients now. I am also wondering if anyone sees any problems in this regiment. I am new to this stuff. All input is welcome, thanks.Mcnizzlebery Reviewed by Mcnizzlebery on . Foliar Application Rates Hey guys. That's a LOT of foliar feeding. It's great to treat deficiencies and bypass the root system of a sick plant, but in general I would be hesistant to do it more than a couple times a week. If you see ANY signs of scorch, stop!
If your plants look good, they're good. Just be aware.
