I'd have to say GWB is not a dumbass, although I don't particularly like him as president. He is definitely a poor speaker; very poor LOL. However he does have decent foreign policy experience; he tried to reform Fannie and Freddie in time and time again do to accounting errors and the fact that they were both getting too large, his tax cuts at the time they were implemented did help to spur the economy, the first stimulus package came at the right time (although the second stimulus package was useless.. and now it seems that people just throw stimulus packages out there as political moves "What's that.. here's some money; now vote for us" a la Nancy Pelosi). His domestic policies have not been great.

And his reaction to 9/11 was spot on; although he dropped the ball by going into Iraq before demanteling Al Queda and capturing Osama Bin Laden. Which may be moot anyway since The Taliban has denounced their association with Al Queda, and is working with the Afghan government with the King of Saudi Arabia as a moderator/intermediary for negotiations.

Has Bush made a number of bad decisions and obviously weaker in some areas then others. DEFINITELY!! Is he the best president ever, definitely NOT... is he a dumbass; I'd have to say no.

Everyone seems to forget that during his first term of president he had approval ratings above 70%.

I'm not stupid, but then again I wasn't super fond of him during his first term either.. I also didn't hate him; and I'd like to believe that Americans weren't stupid for the first 4 years he was in office and suddenly got intelligent. <shrug>
