Firstly, I must admit that I am not that politically active, and only view it from the side from time to time. After living in America for 17 years, I left to return to my home country, but still have family in the states, so I like to see whats going on over there... Now to the point. Bush was the governor of Texas before being president. There is a lot of oil in Texas. Palin is the governor of Alaska. There is a lot of oil in Alaska. Well justanotherbozo, I am not American, but my family does live there, they are registered voters, and they have the same opinion as I do about your president. We in Europe have felt the impact of the U.S. economic collapse, and I am concerned about this new election for that reason. I guess the teachers at my University are also idiots with MBA's (and more) for telling us that your election will affect all of us around the world.

If you don't like my opinions, ignore them. It's too bad that you have to resort to putting other people down. (Sounds like someone else's campaign, right?)

Thanks to the other board members for your opinions! I would agree that Bush has had his moments, but in the end, he's probably not the one making them. Perhaps he is smart on the inside, but I've never seen that side of him come out yet.

And for the record, I support neither of the candidates, I think they are both poor choices, which seems to be a trend in these elections since bush/gore. I still have many friends there in America, and I always loved the American people, but I didn't like they way their government treated them.

I wonder what you'll have to whine about when Bush is no longer in Office.

Again; for his first term Bush had about a 70% approval rating and upwards of 90% from 9/11 on back.

It wasn't until his second term that his approval rating went down; and it's really only plummeted in the last 2 years.

Here's some interesting info for you:

I can't find individual approval ratings for Harry Reid or Nancy Pelosi, but as of July 2007 it was 27%, 40% respectively... I guarantee you it's much lower now.

Everything is connected. Whether a 'connected' person will act in an ethical way is another matter entirely... as evidenced by Palin's little domestic issue with her former brother in law... something she and her husband should have stayed out of entirely. Oopsie.

I'm saying you seem to be whining just to whine. Yes Bush has a low approval rating; but the Senate and Congress which are controlled by the democratic party have a single digit approval rating. Harry Reid has a 27% approval rating as of July in 2007; which is just as low as Bush; Nancy Pelosi has a 40% approval rating as of July 2007 and i'm sure her approval rating is much lower now.

So I ask you what is the point you're trying to make. We have 3 levels of government for a reason. The president doesn't make everything happen, neither does the Congress/Senate.

It's all tied together so if you're going to point your finger at Bush you also need to look at the legislative branch and to a degree the Judicial branches of government.

Your persistent attacks calling for the President being the source of all our problems is not true and I'm not sure who you're convincing because you're very much one sided.

It's almost like you post this stuff just so you can read your own posts, but by all means go for it. I'll just rebuttal every time i see something that is not necessarily correct.

edit: And popular approval is a good indicator of how well you served the citizens of the Nation at the time; but it is not a reflection of how good a president you were. Just as the name suggests it's simply a measure of how popular you were in the country at the time. Sometimes it may correlate to how good a president you were, but often times not.

The two are not 1 in the same. I don't think Bill Clinton was horrible.. but at the same time I don't think he did much of anything either (although i do think a number of issues we see today have stemmed from *some* things that came from this administration), Jimmy Carter was a pretty cruddy president; and I think FDR had many good policies that we still see today.
