    "MONDAY â?¢ FEBRUARY 26, 2007

A VERY INCONVINIENT TRUTH: POWER: GORE MANSION USES 20X AVERAGE HOUSEHOLD; CONSUMPTION INCREASE AFTER â??TRUTHâ??:

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization committed to achieving a freer, more prosperous Tennessee through free market policy solutions, issued a press release late Monday:

Last night, Al Goreâ??s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a gold statue for hypocrisy.

Goreâ??s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWhâ??more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWhâ??guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Goreâ??s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Goreâ??s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Goreâ??s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Goreâ??s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

â??As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,â? said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.â?

OK. We need to do carbon footprints of lots of peopleâ??but how do you measure it? House/houses size, cars, private jetsâ??what else should we include. And how do you offset these with hybrid cars, solar heating, wind turbines, etc.?

We need an algorithm folks. Got one out there?"

he want's to 'rescue us', which makes us victims instead of adults smart
enough to understand that when you tax the people with all the money,
they'll just go somewhere else, somewhere where they get to keep thier
    money.

which will leave us in a socialist America where half the population will work
for the government and the other half will be on welfare, rescued by the
    'gubmint'.
look man, its not the prettiest of pictures either way, but its true. all politicians lie. i mean look at mccain. dude lies all the time and when he gets confonted he just kind of squirms and smiles.

the truth is tho, you have to remember that you're electing a REPRESENTATIVE. he is supposed to represent you, not tell you the way theyre gonna fix everything. the only reason presidents have as much power as they do now is because we stopped fighting back and now we just sit back and watch them.

stop being a spectator in YOUR government. and if you realize that they dont have your best interest in mind, then you just disassociate from them like i do. my life is my life and neither mccain or obama will change my plans. period.

maybe you could give us a few examples of where and when he lied?
i can list several of Obama's lies if you'd like.

Obama doesn't represent me or the values that this country was founded on,
which is to say, small government and low taxes.

don't kid yourself kid, if you sit on your hands and do nothing, it will affect
your life and, if Obama gets in you're gonna see the biggest tax hike ever
    in American history

People can say what they want to friends, spouses, polls, etc., but in the end they're alone in the voting booth. Ever here of the Bradley effect? That will be playing a factor here and has in the polls. How many states was Clinton suppose to either lose or get blown away in but either come close or won?

    Have a good one!:s4:
Is that the video of Joe the UNLICENSED Plumber telling Obama that, with his 40k salary and plans to buy his boss's business, the 250k+ tax increase he's proposed has ruined his dreams?

Even though he would benefit more under Obama's plan?

And doesn't have anywhere near enough income to buy said business?

you should do some actual research dude, maybe study some economic theory
also. if you did you'd know that what Obama proposes has already been tried
back in the '60's, it didn't work then and it won't work now.

Obama and McCain Tax Proposals - washingtonpost.com

He's right in a way. Joe the plumber, if the business was a sole proprietorship, it would not affect his taxes and would slightly benefit under Obama's plan unless the demand for his business exceeds normal industry standards for plumbing, making over 200K.

However, if it's an incorporated business, McCain's plan is much better in the short-term for the cost of future deficits. McCain's tax for business is far more efficient than Obama's. Business taxation would be 10% less under McCain and Obama and the wealthy would make back twice their income, opening up for more investment. Unless you are making over 200K, investing is important to you, you are a business owner of a very successful sole properitorship, partner(s) or Limited Liability Corporation, you work in an industry that republicans tend to lobby for, you would be doing yourself an economic disservice to vote for McCain. It's simply the facts.
