pinching seeds?
I read to pinch my seeds before soaking them. Is there such thing as pinching them too hard? I'm a big guy and I worry I might have pinched to hard. People always tell me I don't know my own strength.

Don't pinch. No need. If you pinch too hard, you crush the embryo.
If having a hard time trying to get the seed to germinate, lightly 'scuff' the seed with fine sandpaper. Along the seeds suture (ridge, edge...whatever you want to call it) is where I 'scuff'...just enough to remove some of the natural waxy coating that protects the seed) This allows the seed to absorb water, and start the germination process.

pinching seeds?
I read in a book to take match box (small one)and put the fine sand paper in the bottom with double side tape. put in seeds and littley shake for about 20-30 sec. and that would help. I have never done this cuz I didn't have a problem with my 1st and only bag seeds. They both poped after a 16hour soak and about 6 hours in the paper towel.

Well I'm worried I might have crushed some embryos and ruined $250 worth of seeds. God damnit! Last time I read that book!

man did you just pinch them till they crushed? $250 how many did you crush? I would have asked here after you did a few. my bag seeds had a few lighter colored and they crshed easy just alittle pressure. I think thats what your looking to do. Not pich the hell out of them.
If you did loose them I feel for you man. If the seed isn"t crushed apart try putting them in water for 8-16hr then to the paper towel and see what ya get.

7 seeds, I have 3 stored somewhere else. It was $250 for 10.
I think 4 of them look still good. Just finished soak. They are in wet paper towel between 2 plates in a dark place that at this second is 69.6°F and 62% humidity. Gonna up the temp though.

I am still new to this. I have looked around at getting some seeds at seed websites. What kinda seeds? I don't think I have seen any 10 seeds for over $160. I hope you get a male and a female so you can make some more seeds for that kinda money. Most be a unreal smoke huh?

pinching seeds?
I've never personally had to pinch any seeds. When I started I didn't even know about germinating seeds. I just put em in the dirt and about 3-6 days later I had myself some babys. I'd recommend what everyone else has said, soak em for a few hours.
To bigworm, many seeds are much more than $160 for 10. Malkuth seeds are almost $450 for 10 feminized.
