This thread is so frustrating. I was simply saying that it isn't healthy to be nationalistic. You'll never hear me going around saying that my country is better than any other country, because I don't believe it be so.. I also don't believe that any country is better than any other country.

That is ridiculous. Yes, maybe that was what our country was founded on. Your country was founded on slavery. What's your point? Your country does not believe in slavery any more than my country believes in the sanctity or divinity of the royal family. To most of the country, the royal family is meaningless - they are simply nothing more than tradition. Maybe the royal family do believe themselves to be superior to everyone else, but I guarantee you that George Bush does, too.

The reason why you brought the royal family in to the conversation still eludes me. I was stating that I don't believe nationalism is right, and that people should not claim any country (or race, sexuality, colour or religion either) is better than any other country, because this kind of attitude breeds hate and conflict. Surely you can't disagree with that? And even if you disagree, what do the royal family have to do with anything?
