Flowering with Bloom and Top Nutes, Experience?

    Hello!

This is my first time growing, and wanted to know if anyone has had any experience in using similar bloom nutrients and top nutrients at the same time.

Here is the situation/problem: I have Canna Terra Flores N-P-K 2-2-4, and Plagron Green Sensation Top Activator 0-9-10. I am growing in soil, and the instructions on the bottle say that I should use the Top Activator in the last 4-6 weeks of bloom with my other nutrients. Clear enough...

My friend, who is running a hydro system, says that those instructions should not be followed, as he did this before and had problems. He says to use the Top Activator 3 times AT MOST during flowering, with 7-10 days between each use, and never use it in the last three weeks (bad taste).

His Top Activator was stronger than mine (I believe he had 0-13-14, but I am not positive).

So, who is right, the bottle or my friend? Has anyone else had experiences combining the two, and what did you learn?

    Any comments are much appreciated!

How many plants do you have? I'm just asking because you could try a different method on each and see which one works best.

unfortunately, only one... and she is my BABY, doing very well at the moment. i hate to kill her or give her any added stress.

you can see her here if you like:

Today is day 1 of flowering. I gave her both the bloom and top nutes at half strength, and she seems fine so far. maybe tomorrow i will just give her water, then the next day just the bloom nutes. I'm really hoping to get some advice on this by then so I won't have to guestimate, but the show must go on...

Flowering with Bloom and Top Nutes, Experience?

Last night I began feeding her the top activator at full strength. So far she looks normal. I will be watering full strength top activator every third feeding, with bloom nutes in the second, and plain tap water in the other. It is very dry here where I live, and have found that I need to water twice a day, otherwise my plant loses its rigidity and begins to droop. As soon as I water it, it bounces back up again.

I will post back here with my experience using this...

not sure about those products, never used. but in my experience with others the bottle is not always right. IE, the Humboldt county products are great but would fry my girls if I followed the bottle. Thru trial and error we have found what works! I rely heavily on my networks of friends and places like this. Good Luck hope that helps!

I am now in the final weeks of my grow. For the first two weeks I used only the Canna Terra Flores each feeding. After that, for the next 3 weeks, I alternated between the Canna Terra Flores, Plagron Top Activator, and Water. Now for the last week and a half I have been alternating between only the Canna Terra Flores and Plagron Top Activator, no water. So far I have not seen any problems, stress, etc. Just a lot of growth. I will stop feeding nutes at the end of this week/middle of next, and go to plain water. I'll post back here with my final results.

Since this went well, for the next grow I may cut out the plain water and go all nutes all the time. If you would like to see my grow, just click on the link in my sig.

I've been using Canna products (CoCo), I've learned to use all the products for however your growing at half strength. Your budding stimulator (Activator) should also be used at half strength for one or two waterings only not above 1050 ppm. NO other addatives needed other than your Canna nutes A & B? Cannazym, I would replace if you havent already used the activator with PK 13/14 as a one time use only, then add your Canna Flores or Vega at half strength.

My exp tells me no more than 75% recommended dosage as it causes a fast nute burn. PH5.5 - 5.7, PPM 850-950 max for first six weeks flowering and flush 10 days to harvest.
