    Second attempt-First grow log

So I'm just now getting serious about growing. Here's my two plants, their both 3wks old.

    Mistake #1. Used 10k aquarium MH 250watt for week1.

Mistake #2. feeding them only micro nutrients for two 1/2weeks.

    Mistake #3. 24/7 light

Forgot to mention that the temps went over 100deg for a prolonged period of time while i was running the 250wat MH with no ventilation. I believe thats what stunted the smaller plant so badly.

So i quit using the aquarium light and went back to my old setup of 9 cfls, 3 42watts and 6 26's. The weird thing is the plants have bushed out, and i have more warm white cfl's(2700k) than cool whites. You would think they'd stretch some but no...they are sprouting shoots all over the place but hardly growing up.

I talked to a nice lady at a hydro store and she convinced me to feed my plants the right nutrients and put them on a 18/6 light. Can anyone identify the larger plant? It was suppose to come from bubble gum dro but who knows what the strain really is.

I plan on getting a stress reverse kind of nutrient for them if they turn out to be female. What i'd like to know is, how much bigger will a plant get after it goes 12/12 and starts seeing 95,000(600watt) lumens instead of a bunch of cfl's?

if you're using cfls most people will tell ya to put them into flower at like 12" and in flowering depending on the lights it can get 2-3x the size before u put it into flowering but I'd go 18/6 first and let them grow some probably but that's just my :twocents:

I really want to get a 600w digital hps/mh and flower these guys under it. They've been under 18/6 for almost a week and there is a huge difference in growth. They are only 8inches high but are branching out like crazy, I'll take pictures within the hour. Thanks for the advice.

I'm definitely going to let them go for another 3-4wks before i flower them, maybe they should be finishing up week 3 this weekend.

Alright, I'm getting very serious about growing now.

I just purchased a hydrofarm 600w hps with a huge air cooled hood, along with a hydrofarm ebb and flow hydroponics setup. As far as i can tell it's only missing the top piece where the net pots fit into. I plan on making a few tote lids fit on top so i can place net pots in them. I still don't completely understand the setup, it has a submersible water pump but i don't know if I need a timer for it or not.

The cool thing is, I placed a 6in inline HD fan in a 6-4in reducer and stuck it on the air cooled hood. It's enough flow to keep temps down to 77.9deg during the middle of the day and thats venting into the grow room, I plan on purchasing a ph/ec tester and a centrifugal blower along with ph up and down to complete my system. I already have the nutrients, hydroton, and ebb+flow kit, net pots should just about complete the system. It also has a air pump and air stones.

I'm itching to put the lights on 12/12 and I know i could still take clones 3wks into flower. I plan on ordering some good strains so any recommendations would be great! Do you think a 250w MH can veg 4-6 plants? Will the 600 be too much for 3-4 ladies? I might just buy a 600w conversion mh bulb if the 250 won't cut it.

PIC'S will be up later today! the runt has outgrown the bushy plant

With that HPS, you should have a massive yield! Wait another week or so to start flowering. Just what I would do, but it's up to you =P

    Good luck mate!

Thanks man! I really hope so. Do you have any idea why my bushy plant started yellowing at the bottom? I think it might be from over watering, or the nutrient mix i fed him that sat in the open might have evaporated making the solution stronger.

Also threw in a pic of my dogs battling to the death. Uh, i mean parrots they act more like dogs anyways.

And theres the old cfl setup, anyone think its a bad idea to flower right now? would it be bad if the 600w hps gives them light in 18/6? Either way i couldn't wait after buying the light yesterday so i watered them with "blOOm" nutrients so i gota flower them soon either way, if not TONIGHT! I'm freakin excited!

Think that is an over nuting problem. It looks like it's smaller than the other plant so cut back a little bit on feeding it nutes and than go with more nutes. Just flush them the next time you water and you should be fine. The other plant looks goregous though.

16/6 light is fine. I would wait a few days to flower and give them 24 hours of dark and go 12/12 until you're ready to harvest.

    Good luck =D

Well, CRAP. I just set them for 12/12. I've been turning the lights off at 6pm and come on at 12am. so if i did 24 hours of dark I'd have to turn them on at 6pm. I want them 6pm-6am OFF because i can't completely seal the window from light during the day. So, the question would be. Is it SAFE to let them go 36hrs without light before i could get them on my schedule of 7pm to 7am OFF.

Plus I would think theres less chance of tipping off the energy company by having the lights on during the day

thanks! I'll need all the luck i can get.
