I'm a newb with growing and I have no camera, so I'm gonna try to be as detailed as possible

Last July, I started growing plants. Well, only two of them actually sprouted. A few weeks ago, one of them died. It was fairly short and had, um, "Mushie" growths on them that I thought were buds. So, I hung it up to dry, smoked it, and got next to nothing.

The other plant is taller and bigger. There are clumps of hard, pod-ish things growing on it with little white hairs on them (alot of the leaves have this too).

So my question is, should I let it grow and see what happens, or should I just give up? Because I haven't seen much progress from this one in the last week or so...
