For example, did you pre-sprout the seed? This is usually a good idea to do. If you did, how long was the root? Just a tiny nub or a hairy monster?

I would strongly suggest you start a grow journal- we pot heads tend to be "fuzzy" about dates! I use a day planner to keep track of veg times, harvest dates, feeding, etc.

I once threw out the dirt (after it sat for 2 weeks) from a "failed" seed's pot... the hubby brought in the seedling from the garden a couple weeks after that! (Turned out to be a male would have been a great story, otherwise!)

You are going to have to learn patience! DON'T go digging around in the dirt for it, you can kill your plant that way! No picking leaves for an early smoke- leaves make food for the buds. If you veg for too short of a time, you reduce the amount of your harvest. If you harvest early, your pot will be less potent! PATIENCE!

And you should see your "baby" by the end of the week, if pre-sprouted; 10 to 14 days, if not. Temperatures affect growth rates- pot is happy when we are...the 70s are best. Good luck and start reading everything on growing!
