gray? i dont think i have gray leaves but i will keep my eye for that other then that im glad shes healthy and i hope she finishes of soon im realy getting yannsy! it shouldent be to much longer i hope.thanks again evrybody who reasured me on these few concerns iv had .ill sure to keep an update on my log of progres and turn out and lots of pics.

Whether the plant will turn purple is due to its genetics (genotype) when the conditions in the outside world are met, the plant becomes purple (phenotype).

I'm guessing that plants that have this genetic marker may perhaps be more resistant to cold temperatures? But that's just a guess anyone else have any better ideas?

that is something to think about but i dont think shes turnining purple becaus of genetics it must be the cold its a setiva and from what iv read thats a tropical strain.i had a branch that broke of my plant way back in early sept and i stuck it in another pot and it has been doing great its in my shed in the window and its still green its only about 6 inches tall but it hasent got the cold like mom did and mom is realy purple and daugter is light green.but i do wonder why and what makes it turn purple is it some kind of protectiv mecinnisim with in the plant? any cemist on here with the ansers? thanks again everybody for your thoughts and input.

I was going to try to explain why plants turn colors in the cold.
