Medical Marijuana Law in California???

I have been doing some research on the law in California regarding Medical Marijuana, both online and calling different police stations. So far every police station I called and spoken to an officer, I've gotten different answers.

Semi-Valley. When I spoke to an officer in the Semi-Valley police station, she said that it doesn't matter if you had a doctor recommendation for the marijuana, it is illegal and they will arrest you and take the marijuana as evidence. She also said that different city will have different methods of dealing with people in possession of marijuana.

Pasadena. When I spoke to an officer in the Pasadena police station, he said if you get pulled over by a police officer and you have all the paper work for medical marijuana, he will take the marijuana as evidence, write you up for a misdemeanor if you are under an oz. and have an ID on you, and than its up to you to prove to the judge your recommendation is legal.

Burbank. When I spoke to the Burbank officer, he said as long as you have the original paper work for your doctor recommendation and are under an oz. of marijuana, they issue a ticket and you can show up to court and they will most likely drop the ticket if everything checks out regarding the recommendation from the doctor being real or fake.

I still want to talk to the Glendale PD and see what they say but so far it seems that every city has different rules on dealing with medical marijuana carriers/users in California.

Here is the question I have: Since I am getting different answers from different stations...... Has anyone been pulled over and had their medical marijuana and recommendation on them and what happened??? Also what city were you in?

In most cases they will take everything you have and write you a citation. However, it's a state law and the judge cannot convict you and the charges will be dropped. I've heard of someone having plants yanked and all, but they left the hydro setup. From what i've seen, they cite you and ask questions later, so just make sure you have a good dr.

First, if you ever get pulled over don't say anything!
It's not like they can pull you over just to see if you have weed. They need a probable cause.
Don't consent to a search!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't tell them you have a recommendation unless they find your weed.
And that's bs, they can't take your weed either. If they do you can legally sue them and get your weed back later.

Don't drive high
Don't drive around with your weed unless you're coming home from buying it
Best to keep it in the trunk

The only way you're going to get busted is if you have bongs and pipes all over your car and you're ripped as hell. In that case you're an idiot and deserve to go to jail anyways.

It's so crazy, people need to learn their rights, i bet this goes on all the time all day. And nobody does anything about it either. It's insane of how many people i've known that gotten busted because they don't know their rights.

This is eerily depressing. Is it not the law for state officers to not penalize patients with proper documentation? What a mess.

don't you find it amazing that the police who have vowed to "uphold the law"
can decide whether or not they want too uphold state law "the compasionate user act of 1996" this is outta hand they have too uphold the law they a sworn too ! who do call when the police violate the law, this has got too be a violation of civil rights and a criminal act by the police, I just don't get how they can violate state law,what the laws are good for us and not them,we have too but they don't? its plain crazy

My impression of peace officers (term used lightly) is that their attitude and training take over almost all the time. So from time to time you may get different outcomes in the same jurisdiction. There have been cases in Cali were PD's were told to return the herb. Courts seem to be upholding the law. Many places in Nor. Cali. really dont mess with you unless you make it an issue. My neighbor was driving with fresh buds...not trimmed. He was pulled over, Im sure was smoking and didnt have his card/recom. on him. The guy kinda roughed him up (his words not mine), wrote him a ticket, and left him with the herb because here just said he had a card. Nothing came of it. But its much much different up here. I get the impression if you dont have an outdoor grow with hundreds of plants...they dont really want to waste their time! Just my thoughts!
