    autoflowering question

Hi All, I am about to start a grow of auto ak-47. I am growing using CFL but they will also be getting indirect sunlight. Would any of you suggest using Dutch Master's Liquid light?

    autoflowering question

liquid light is great for any strain. but you have to make sure you get the dutchmaster penetrator with it. otherwise the liquid light won't be absorbed as well as possible. best results with penetrator. good luck! -GG84

    autoflowering question

I've also had some good results with it.....and some troublesome issues as well in the form of leaf drying and damage to certain plants that I can't SWEAR are due to LL but I have my suspicions and use it pretty sparingly as a rule. :wtf:

    autoflowering question

Thanks Weedhound and GG84. I've ordered both the liquid light plus the penetrator and I'll be sure to be careful with it. I'm also planning on keeping a male so I get some more beans do either of you know if I need to do anything different when breeding an af?

    autoflowering question

i have absolutely no idea on breeding AFs. i would be careful and REALLY read up on breeding in general as you may lose the auto-flower ability in the cross.

    autoflowering question

Thanks Graham. I think I might have screwed up this grow before it even started. I had placed the seeds in tiny jiffy pots. Because we had a small cold front the other night I placed them in the oven with just the interior light on. Well unfortunately that little light bulb heated up the oven higher then I would have thought and the jiffy pots were pretty dried out. So now I am waiting to see if I need to restart this. Good news is that I had not gone far in the grow.

    autoflowering question

Luna, does the breeder description say what % of the plants autoflower?

I'll be surprised if they claim 100% auto. No breeder wants to release a higher-end auto strain (basically, stuff other than early lowryders) to the public that the auto trait has been locked down in and is therefore breedable, lol!

If you get 50% auto that means the trait is locked down in one parent and heterozygous in the other. Breed auto to auto, choosing the most potent and vigorous individuals, disregard photoperiod flowerers, and lock it the rest of the way if you want to back up your genetics.

If you get 25% auto, that means BOTH parents were heterozygous and it may be a little harder to stabilize the auto trait while retaining the desirable drug traits.

    autoflowering question

Thanks Stinky. I didn't realize that the AF trait wasn't locked down. Hopefully I'll get that 50% so I can get some seeds out of them I've never had a problem buying seeds but I rather keep it to a minimum.

I don't know if it is locked down in that line- you have to check breeder description on that one.
