I would suggest getting a glass jar (possibly air tight if possible) and storing it that way. If it's hot in your area, you can always store in the refridgerator, but MAKE SURE ALL MOISTURE IS OUT OF THE BUD... if not, air it out 20-30 minutes a day so that it does not mold. Once fairly dry, you can keep in the the fridge for weeks and even months. By doing this, you're curing the bud and this process can even give it a better taste and smell.

Again, make sure to get all of the moisture out of it before sealing and cooling. If it happens to mold, toss it. Don't chance it. :thumbsup:
