Da Buddha problems...
So I bought myself Da Buddha and I have been having some issues. At first it went well with some super sticky diesel. I was setting it at about 2 o'clock and was getting about 5 or 6 good strong hits before it started to taste gross and turned dark brown. I got another bag of some good herb and it has been a nightmare since. If I turn it up to 2 o'clock or higher it will just ignite the bud and shoot flames into the whip. If I try starting off at 12 o'clock I will get maybe 1 or 2 decent hits and then it will not produce any vapor at all. I stir it up, shake it around, and try again with a little more heat and still nothing. The herb remains a bright shade of green and I know there is still something valuable to be had with it. Oddly enough cranking it up to 3 o'clock with this "half-smoked" green herb will still produce no vapor. It's either barely anything or flames and thick white smoke through the whip. Btw I am using a good grinder and packing the whip about 1/3 full. Any advise from Da Buddha owners? I don't want to give up just yet!

A few thoughts -
First is that, no offense, but it doesn't sound like you really know what your doing with your vape. You're running all over the dial and, assuming your DBV is like mine, you're operating at way to high of temps. The temp range on your DBV is 200-900F. On my unit "OFF" is at about 7 o'clock, and full power is at about 4 o'clock. Assuming the switch adjusts the temperature linearly, 12 o'clock should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 550F - still too hot for vaping weed. On my unit I usually set it at about 10:30-11:00.
Second, make sure you're warming your unit up properly before you try to use it. Turn it to full power for a few minutes to give it time for the glass to get hot, then turn it down to your desired temp.
Third, if you've got your temps right, MJ vape is almost invisible. You especially won't see it in the tubing when you take a hit. You *should* however be able to taste it and it will seem more "smokey" when you exhale.
Hope this helps. Gotta say I love my DBV to death. Sad to hear you're having so much trouble with yours.

Thats too bad, I love Da Buddha.
I got mine about 2 weeks ago. A good setting for vaporizing seems to be about 12:30 to start, and The highest you can turn it to without burning is about 3 oclock. Also, I think you might be packing your whip a bit too full. Mine works best when the level of ground herb is just barely into the opaque glass part.

Yea it sounds like there is some inconsistency with the temperature control. 3 o'clock will usually incinerate anything in the whip. I guess I will try packing in less and using it around 12 o'clock. About how many hits do you get when you are using it set at only 10:30/11? Does the bud actually turn brown when you are done? Thanks.

You can't compare dial settings from one vape to the next, even with the same model. You can pull the temp control knob off, put it back on in a different position, and your perfect temp setting can change from 12 to 3, or whatever. How the dial was put on at the factory can vary somewhat. The calibration of the control itself, from one to another, can be slightly different too.
How hard you hit it can also change the temp as well. Turn it to a high temp setting and hit it hard-you get good vapor. Hit it easy at the same setting and your bowl burns. Hit it hard at a low setting and you get no vapor. Your hard hit draws a lot of air through the bowl in a hurry and lowers the temp below vaping range.
Going through the vaping range with the same steady draw on the whip should tell you where the fault is-you or the vape. If you don't get results that make sense while using a consistent air flow through the whip, contact 7th Floor and use the warranty.

yea i think i was just hitting it too hard with the temp set too low. i was afraid of burning it with a high temp setting but like you said, the high flow was lowering the temperature too much. thanks
