Mass Question 2 retroactive?I was recently caught smoking in public, ive smoked there a bunch of times and id never even seen a cop around. Luckily he let me off, but with a catch. A narcotics unit is going to call me in a few days and they want the name of a drug dealer and possibly some other information.

Its my guess that if i dont give them satisfactory info, i will be charged with possesion. This is devastating because i am going to school for electrical engineering and im thinking it could be tough to get a job with a CORI record.

But then i thought of mass ballot initiative 2 which would lower possession of an ounce or less from a misdemeanor to a civil crime punishable by a $100 fine and absolutely no record. So if i was lucky, maybe i wont be charged at all, but if i am and then 2 passes before im actually sentenced, will the penalty be switched to the fine? what about if its after im sentenced? Any idea what i should say to the cops when they call me (should be in about a day or 2)?
