Large Broken Branch Photo
Yesterday I noticed that one of my bigger plants was broken. It has 4 large colas growing on it. One of the big stems must have broke while I gave it a shake from after 4 days of rain. The branch is still connected to the plant it was just laying there in my flower bed. It was not wilted or anything like that. The break was way down on the lower part of the stem which is about the size of a broom handle. I lifted the branch back up and used string to tie it back into place. I wrapped the string around the lower stem covering the entire breakage point. After I had it tied back up it was a bit higher then it was normally so the buds are not facing straight up they are a little sideways. Today I went out and the buds have repostioned and are almost facing straight up again. Do you think this branch will continue to grow????
I had the top of one plant bend over I think it snapped and I used string to tie it back into place. It seems to be doing okay.
I guess my question is.....Do plants heal themselves when put back together??? Or will this branch die off??? Like I said it looks okay.

If the vascular tissue is intact, it will adapt and heal. If it re-oriented itself, it sounds as if it has a good chance of recovery. Duct tape works well to put broken branches back together too... O duct tape, is there NOTHING you can't fix?

Looks fine. Edit: Remember to check that it does not cut into the stem as the stem grows, because that WILL kill the branch by girdling. That's why nursery tape is wide, soft, and stretchy.
