Republican Empty Talk Continues to Sway the Gullible
Please correct me if I'm wrong. But another area (there are many) where Republicans say the right thing to get conservative and Christian votes but then do nothing is abortion.
Sure, all the Republican campaigns say they are "pro-life". Yet the three Supreme Court Justices "pro-life" presidents Reagan and Bush-1 appointed all voted to *uphold* Roe v. Wade in Casey v. Planned Parenthood (Justices O'Connor, Souter, and Kennedy I believe). And the two Justices Bush-2 appointed have both said and implied they would do the same (Alito implied it, Roberts outright said he would follow Roe as precedent). Yet millions of conservatives vote for these presidents because they believed they would take some sort of stand against abortion. Some polls show that as many as 10 million vote Republican on the abortion issue alone, seeking to have Roe. v. Wade overturned.
Don't take this to indicate what my views on abortion are. I just grew up in conservative Christian circles. Since I've gone to law school and studied the actual abortion cases, it amazes me that all these conservatives are still gullible (or ignorant) enough to believe what these republican campaigns spout concerning their "pro-life" stance. No republican administration has had the balls to demand the appointment of actual pro-life Justices to the Court. So what good is voting for them if you are conservative and abortion/Roe v. Wade is your main issue?
If you are a social conservative and abortion is a main issue for you, please don't vote republican thinking they do anything more then spout hot air. Instead, look to see what these men *really* do with your vote once the campaign is over.jsn9333 Reviewed by jsn9333 on .
