Republican Empty Talk Continues to Sway the Gullible
I agree the Dems aren't much better then the Republicans, but at least they tell you what bullshit they're going to pull. I'm so tired of the lies. You would think these 10 million people that keep electing Republicans on the abortion issue would see that after 5 Republican Supreme Court Appointments *strengthening* abortion rights, the Republicans just sold them a bunch of lies.
You say both parties have the same boss. I agree. But in another sense, the boss is us, the people. They can't get elected without us. If people would pay attention to the facts instead of the campaigns maybe they'd vote a little wiser.
My own feelings on abortion are that, the fact is, the birth control pills a lot of these religious conservatives take have the secondary effect of preventing implantation as a "second defense" anyway... so they probably have technically aborted before without even knowing it. I can understand supporting bans on later term abortions because that is just brutal considering how developed the baby is and that there is a good chance (s)he can feel pain, etc.. But if someone wants to take a birth control pill or a morning after pill or something like that, within weeks of finding out... I would think it would have to be more obvious at that point for the gov't to insist life has begun and intrude on their bodily privacy.
But anyway, I agree on the spirituality issue. Respect for life and children is a great thing. My main point is that people keep buying these lies the "pro-life" Republicans sell them. Why not just vote Democratic so you know what you're getting? Or vote third party for someone who seems to have it more right, like Ron Paul. These people keep voting for a proven lie.
I just don't get it. I get the feeling some of them even know it is a lie, but they feel so strongly about abortion they just have to vote for the candidate who says the right words even if they know it is a lie. How sad.
