The Forecast
This is simply not the case. US Steel is a large producer of steel, still pays a dividend, and of course is US based. A new giant Arcelor Mittal has emerged. One is US based (US Steel), the other is Dutch based controlled by Lakshmi Mittal of Indian decent; both operate in the US. Regardless, alloys are the future.

Yet the last time France was invaded, FDR was President, and globalization did not exist as it does now. Globalization is a good hedge against attack IMHO.Again a lot of good that does the US in case of Naval Blockade or Supply line Disruption.
Taken from Wikipedia:This is an example of a 3rd wave company, which is why i previously said i should have been more specific.Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Howmet, a division of Alcoa is a world leader in the investment casting of superalloys, aluminum and titanium primarily for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine (IGT) engine components. Howmet also provides hot isostatic pressing, titanium ingots and protective coating services.
Dedicated to research and the development of its material, Howmet operates 27 facilities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, France, the UK, Hungary and Japan.
Alcoa smelts over 2000 Kilo-tons of aluminum per year in the US. I believe this is very close, or even greater than what RUSAL (worlds largest) produces in Russia.I live in Wichita Ks.....Wanna see how fast an entire local economy would dry up if there is no way to get Aluminum? (Especally in Wartime) Wichita is home to ALL of the Company's That build All the Aircraft for the USAF....Aircraft Plants,Head Offices,R&D its all done Here or In Seattle.......In short no Aluminum,No Planes....
My bad...:jointsmile:Ummm Yeah!GoldenBoy812 Reviewed by GoldenBoy812 on . The Forecast I've been on a lot of political forums that persistently discuss topics related to what the coming future will hold, however, in spite of this none of them actually discus they're own theories as to how all of these events will play out. So thats why I started this thread. I think it would help all of us out if we soaked in what has happened and discussed exactly where we see all of this going 20 or 30 years down the road. To make it simple....what do you guys think life will be like in the Rating: 5
