Yea in his letter he said the touring took its toll, and that he lost the enthusiasm and motivation to stay in opeth...idk the thing I mentioned was kind of a rumour...so who knows how true it is...but they're still good friends...so there's none of that stereotypical rockstar breakup shit going on...funny how this thread was more about Mastodon and Opeth than PT...
